Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is a procedure used in cases of male-factor
infertility. In cases where sperm counts are very low or where fertilization has failed to occur with a prior IVF attempt, special egg insemination techniques may be used to help the sperm fertilize the eggs. With ICSI, a single sperm can be injected into the egg, resulting in a significantly higher likelihood of fertilization. This process is used in conjunction with IVF.
